Life Without Music

What would your life be like without music?

Answering this question reminded me of a movie I watched with my son about 2 months ago. The movie is titled Doraemon: Nobita’s Earth Symphony (2024).

I thought the movie was about music with instruments and vocals. But it was more basic than that. Music is everywhere, even though we don’t realize it. Everything can be called music if it has a rhythm.

It was pictured in the movie that music also appears as things we hear on the street. Like a sound in construction work, mother humming to her baby and others. I realize that music is that basic.

To answer the question of what my life would be without music. Well it will probably make my life more peaceful or more dull. It is between both.

Some music I can’t stand to hear. Some music I can hear. Sometimes I can hear one song when it suits my mood. Sometimes it can’t. Some music suits my every mood.

But what I realize from learning more about my religion is, you can’t be too carried away with music. Because it could drive you too emotional. And potentially be negative if the message of the song is also bad.

So I don’t know if I love music too much. All I know is there are boundaries to music. In some phase in my life, I rely on music to boost my mood. In my early years of life, I learned the English language from song lyrics I like.

These days I listen to energetic songs to make my work productive. It is usually when I am quite sleepy and I can’t drink coffee, or I am near my deadline.
